That’s because our business was born out of a family commitment to safeguarding our community, passed down through generations and rooted in a deep understanding of what it truly means to protect your people.
The Dupree Story
The Dupree legacy began with Lieutenant Paul Dupree, a retired Atlanta Police Officer who believed his community deserved more. What started in the 1980s with a simple mission—providing reliable off-duty police officers—operated out of a humble closet in a local liquor store. It was a foundation built on integrity and firsthand knowledge of the streets.
His son, Les Dupree, continued this mission, following in his father’s footsteps onto the force and into the family business. Under Les' leadership, Dupree Security Group grew from a police detail service into a full-spectrum security partner, adding professional guard services, event staffing, and a serious, reliable medical division to meet Atlanta's evolving needs.
Today, this legacy is carried forward by Les's niece, Tara. As the third generation to lead the company, she honors the principles her grandfather and uncle instilled: a hands-on approach, an unwavering commitment to the client, and a profound responsibility to the city we call home.
